Motionpoems is a 501c3 nonprofit arts organization and accepts foundation, government, corporate, and individual contributions. We operate on an annual budget of approximately $200-300,000, the vast majority of which is spent on programs. Details below in our Annual Report.
Major funding has come from The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, The National Endowment for the Arts, The McKnight Foundation, The City of St. Paul Cultural Star Program, The Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, The Minnesota State Arts Board, The Warhol Foundation, and The Archie D. and Bertha H. Walker Foundation. We are grateful for their ongoing support of our initiatives.
Motionpoems presents poems as cutting-edge films, for free to everyone. We pair great poems with amazing filmmakers, and then we step back. FORBES has called our films “astonishing, powerful, and hilarious.”
